Re: Crossfire value
I believe the Crossfire name will disappear in a few years, along with the current car. I would love to see Chrysler use the current SLK350 chassis in '09 on a redesigned crossfire. For those of you who don't already know it, the crossfire is a direct replacement for the Prowler. The next "Halo Sports Car" will wear a different nameplate. By '09 the current SLK will be nearing a redesign, leaving the chassis for Chrysler. I'm also expecting Chrysler to build the Firepower and price it between the SRT-6 and SRT-10 Viper, roughly $65K maybe $70K. That will be my first big purchase after I finish my Pharm. D.
BTW, this all depends on what happens with DCX. If the Corp splits then everything goes out the window and Chrysler gets to design its own Crossfire!
Back on subject, I doubt the cars will be worth much down the road. It would be similar to finding old MGs, cool but not expensive collector cars like E-types or Cudas.
I don't think I will ever sell my Crossfire, unless its my last option. I will have it paid off by the time I graduate then it gets to sit in the garage and be my hobby car. I'm also buying my SRT-4 back from my brother and making it my 11-sec weekend driver. This all depends on my finishing Pharmacy school, till then its just a dream.
