I was also interested in reducing break dust, and as far as I've heard "ceramic" break pads are a good solution, however they lack breaking power. My question here is "do they lack breaking power as compared to the OEM's I have right now?", If not then I'm assuming it would be a good upgrade.

Regarding the Ceramic brakes, I have some fitted for exactly the same reason you mentioned, dust on the wheels. I have chromes fittted now, and found the investment of $100 and 1/2 hours work fitting, well worth the effort and cost. Dust is now almost Non Existant, and the braking power is unnoticable to me. While fitting the new pads, I also smartened up the calipers by painting Red and fitting of white AMG stickers, looks great.
