When I switched to 235 40 18 and 18 8.5 wheels, I had to trim off the extra part of the bolt and gave the nut a little shave. They are stock wheels, stock size tires. The strange thing is that its only the driver's side, the passenger side is ok. I assumed that it was rubbing the drivers side because it's usually just me in the car, so the added weight moved the tire further up in the wheel well. Would the tire even get closer to the spindle nut as the spring is compressed? (my jack is in the garage with my mustang, 30 minutes from here, cant test it until tommorow).
In this picture it looks like it may be a bad wear pattern from the camber or toe (botched alignment?), which I hope is the case. I just want to sort this out before I get new tires (hopefully tommorow) so it doesn't happen again. Thanks for the responses!
