My guess is the increased interest of the mod. I wonder if there is any difference if you told them you had an SLK. I read somewhere that (I'm pretty sure it was Euro Rev) they don't think to highly of Crossfire owners as clients. Don't quote me on it being Euro rev that said it, I'll do my homework and confirm that statement.
