Re: Traction control!!! Truly shut it off
Oh kwiktsi, I wasn't directing that pictures comment at anyone directly. No I was just making a comment on how many randoms jump in the middle of a thread and throw in a wrench that could influence peoples opinions one way, or another. Here's the only way I can give an example of what I am trying to say. Imagine there are a group of board members all sitting around going back and forth with there stances on...lets say "gun control". Ok lets say 1/2 are for it, 1/4 are against it, and the last 1/4 are on the fence with this topic. Ok so, the 1/2, & the 1/4, that a firm on there views are getting deeper & deeper into there, what had originally started out to be a discussion on how they could improve there community. But now has become an all out debate on trying to get the other side to fold or win the intense conversation. Now this is were the Lurker would come into play. When the two side are almost at the point of slinging mud at the other side, they will come into the middle of it stating, they have been following the topic the whole time, and there not choosing either side...But...There's always a But!. Then they say what it seems to them is that one side is right and the other is wrong. Now the conversation goes back into session, but now the scale is tipped in one direction, virtually crushing the others sides valid points and opinions on the subject. Now what has happened is since there was a Silent partner that came out and voiced there view as innocently as possible. But now changed the name of the game. If you look at any long thread that has highly viewed and has countless responses to. They all have the same basic formula as to how the story goes. I guarantee somewhere in the middle, you'll find a post from someone that has been a member since 03', and has only posted 25 posts in all that time. I find that to be a little strange. The other thing I think is a little strange, is when you click to view all there posts ever posted, you can see what their reason for which side would benefit most from the Scale tipping comment. Usually you'll see the same statements over and over in 10 different threads. Like, "I don't know if I would go with the Rotex Golds" & then "What do you guys think about the Rotex Golds?" Followed by the "If I were going to spend a hundred and a quarter, I would get some Rotex Golds". These are just examples I made up, so if you really do like the Rotex Golds, don't feel like I'm pointing figures at anyone. These are just the things, and the trends I have noticed over the passed year and a half being apart of this forum. So please don't take offence if you have posted what your favorites are a hundred times over, I am not naming names, I am just taking notice to how judgments are made and how attitudes towards other members comments, ideas, things they have done, pictures, ...etc, can get shot down, simply because someone may have found there comments to be a possible wrench in there manufacturers product that is being introduced. Or maybe your comments may just be educational, and would let the cat out of the bag, of how there magical product was simply a spring and a mirror combined with some smoke.
I apologize for taking this thread off topic, and if I am taking away from anyone who has something to offer to the actual subject. I apologize to you most of all. However, I wanted to at least explain were I am coming from, so there is no misunderstandings on my part. I know I write novels, but I like to cover all the bases, so hopefully it only needs to be said once. So with all that being said...how about that Traction Control Issue, so many of us are interested in? I'll try to help in any way I can even though I haven't been able to drive my car for over two months, because of my trans, conductor plate and harness, a long with tranny control module getting fried, and not under the 7/70 because of were I was driving when it all turned to sh*t on me. And financially, I don't have anything extra to put out for anything, let alone money to go towards some costly parts for my car. Unfortunately, my wife and I put everything into the development of my Dual Induction Systems for our cars, as well as a handful of MB vehicles. So I get to build things for a car I can't even drive. How fun is that... Its like a slap in the face every time I see the car. I'm paying for something that I can't even get use out of, or enjoy it.
