I assume you moved the seats while cleaning the car with the doors open. Were you trying to adjust the seats later with the doors closed, as the seat relay can be half broken and the seat will not operate with the doors closed.
I authored a thread on this repair.
If the relay is 'half broken' the seats will operate with the ignition on or off as long as the door is open.
