I also did the plastic cowel and the metal crossmember by the radiator in a really cool textured flex paint. It was inexpensive just very time consuming, lots of taping.
yes, getting rid of the lettering made the patchwork so much eaisier. Did you paint your intake manifold or is it the lighting in your pic? Im going to put the emblem back but have the flames laid out so it looks like the emblem is catching fire inside the flames. Our painter just did his mailbox with skulls in fire and it came out great. Going to try to work that into the cover as well without it looking to busy.
