i had a rubbed area on a slate gray seat. I matched a dye at the local sewing shop. Wiped it on, wiped it off. I then took a bone (printers tool) and rubbed it out to give it a finished look. I can still see the spot because I know it's there. It's unnoticeable to anyone else. Cost - $2.79
