Wonderful work! I do have a question or two as I have never done any fiberglass work at all and it's a bit unclear from the photos.
Did you use the original pillar cover as a template and then build up the new piece underneath as well as on top or did you keep the original pillar as a base? Kind of looks like you made a completely new part, but again, I'm new to any fiberglass work.
Also, it's too bad you could not copy the texture of the original pillar, that would have really made the part blend better. Yes, even with the pods.

I created a completely new pillar. The job would have been much easier if I'd just attached the pods to the stock pillar and applied filler.
To add texture, simply spay the primered pod with textured paint, and pant over it with the desired color. Pretty simple step if somone wants texture.
