Also, it's too bad you could not copy the texture of the original pillar, that would have really made the part blend better. Yes, even with the pods.

I created a completely new pillar. The job would have been much easier if I'd just attached the pods to the stock pillar and applied filler.

To add texture, simply spay the primered pod with textured paint, and pant over it with the desired color. Pretty simple step if somone wants texture.
