Re wind noise, I did have some on the rear of my A6 driver's window due to the seal not being tight. The cheap fix which has worked for a few years: purchased some 1/4" clear aquarium hose and slid it into the groove in the rubber seal to press tighter against the glass. I also had a rattling in the driver door of the roadster and the dealer checked (still under warranty back then) and found a couple loose screws in the window track. Once tightened, the problem disappeared. PS - My son is a student at FSU and has the 2007 XF with him down there.
GW, feel free to tell me to look it up in the service manual, but can you share any info on the best way to get to the window track screws, I have never messed with mine, and I bet they need to be tightened. Thanks
