At some point everything is politics, Max & Kane.

As a vet I cringe every May & November with all the speechifying, then catch another faceful of the same old Newsy | Simpson: Disabled Veterans 'Not Helping' Economy | Multisource Video News Analysis

Vets (and their widows) need jobs, services & a sympathetic ear. Save Pomp and Circumstance for high school commencements & the Queen of England.

Job discrimination against returning vets (who often still have Reserve reqiurements) is still high. That is, when there are any on offer.

My point is if you want to honor a vet, do something more meaningful than salute the flag. That's my problem. And America's, too
