Default Re: The Meaning of Memorial Day - Hold it Dear

OK... here goes.

A better day to celebrate Memorial Day.

Bob Gates recently noted that the defense of the USA rests on a narrower segment of our populace than ever before.

So instead of making like Catholic mass at some Memorial Day cluster, you can do something useful for servicemen and their families, instead.

Here are a few suggestions:

If there are living former military and families in your area and you can deal with them...

-Help find job leads for them.

-(Only if you can write) Help them fine-tune their resumes.

-Listen to them when they want to talk things out.

(Not all wounds or disabilities are visible)

If you can't deal with the living...

Find a cemetery in your area and take a weed whacker to it. Some of the men and women laying about may have served.

If you just have to talk back to the powers that be...

Just make it plain that you don't want them to welch on the care of former servicemen...

Not out of some altruistic notion. But out of fear the Gov't might not be able to get more people to serve when we need them most.

Now tell me what you don't understand about that.

Still confused? Then Aricept is a drug you should consider.

It won't fix everything, but it will slow down your brain rot.

Also lay off the sauce. Even the young Tea sippers on this board can smell you a kilometer off
