Thanks chfx ... I still think this might work ... I just a bit nervous to try until I am sure.
I still think that it should be possible to take the pre-amp output from the head unit to the line in on a PC. The PC line out could then be routed to the pre-amp in on the factory amp.
I am away on vacation for the next week. I hope someone can bolster my confidence before I try this.
