Re: Roll Call Alabama/Georgia
Hi All! .........North Alabama just checking in! It was a wild week following such devastation! My immediate area was spared but within 30 miles it looks like a bomb went off. Nothing but slabs left to homes and miles of devastation. I was in Phil Campbell today and it is sad to see people experiencing so much loss of life, belongings and counting their blessings to have the clothes on their back and that is it! The people are in need of so much! There have been lots of volunterism going on but it's going to take a long time to recover the damage caused by 210 mph winds for 106 miles in a path 1.5 miles wide. They spent alot of time reporting from Ttown but I think the worse was in the Hackelburg/Phil Campbell area. We were lucky during the storms the wall cloud that was spotted over the University of North Alabama didn't develop as that was right in the area that I live and work. For those living in an area with storm siren system........RESPECT them! I have heard so many stories on how people have become complacent and do not respect their warning. If these storms would have moved thru during the night time it would have be catastrophic. Thanks for thinking of us Bama residents!
On the brighter side we should get together for a ride and lunch at the Rattlesnake Cafe. Uncle O......are you up to a visit to the family in Tuscumbia? Alabama/Tenn/Georgia Crossfires what do you think??
Have a great week!
Lori-Ann
