I used an exhaust hanger removal tool that looked like this:

Also, a cut wire clothes hanger threaded thru the donut helped pull it to the side while I pulled down with the tool. I used a ziptie to hold the two donuts more together when I re-installed. With the Magnaflow, the donut can come loose on one side. The ziptie keeps that from happening.
