I've got the vanilla interior and my steering wheel has worn areas on it too. I've tried using a wheelskin cover, but it doesn't look very good. The white wheelskin color doesn't match the vanilla interior color. A black wheelskin cover would be your best bet, if that's the way you want to go. I'm considering having my steering wheel recovered and having wood installed by a company called CarID. It costs $340.00. Here's a link to their site.
