I went back out and took some pics and watched it cycle a few times. Looks like this plastic strip is meant to float in and out of the groove, I dont see any sharp edges or anything that would be catching the plastic.
Can someone take a look at theirs and see if it floats in the groove ? Real easy, just start the top going down and when the window is full up and before the cover opens, you can stop the process and be able to easily pull the plastic out of the groove.
Then when its full down and before the cover closes you can reach in and see if it is fully out of the groove.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.
