I did mine on my srt-4 with tint in a spray can. they came out dark like I wanted them to look but it made the light dim.

I later did the side markers with black paint and like 2 light coats, this made the light come through much better and still looked super dark. From that, I'd say black gloss paint is the better way to go. Name:  DSC_0002.jpg

Also if you want to put them back to stock all you have to do is sand it off then use rubbing compound and seal them with clear and they will look brand new again. I did this when I put it up for sale.

You might want to mask off the reverse area of the light then clear coat the light when your done leaving it clear. Mine were almost useless between the tint on my window's and tint on the light housing.
