When I got my x-fire I wet sanded and buffed all of the safe surfaces I worked in a body shop for 3 years, so don't just do it. The older the paint, the harder to get the sanding scratches out use 2000 grit then 2500 soft strokes in one direction than buff it out with 1000 rpm. And as many steps of compound you need I do 3, 1st use rubbing compound, then a mildly aggressive polish, then use a waffle pad and 3m perfect it 3. I am gonna get a digital camera, maybe I can get some pics up.
