Maybe it's just me, but I think the AMG tranny shifts at the perfect RPM. I occasionally manually downshift when I'm slowing down through the speed cams... but don't really "need" to. Now if this made the shifts come on a little quicker/firmer, than I'd be all over it. If you watch at the track, the car will nose-dive a little when shifting. But, manually shifting doesn't cure that.
