It could be corrosion on the terminals... bad battery.... battery cable....

Did you try charging the battery for a few hours and see if it cranks properly? It would be unusual for the starter to just die.... but not impossible.

I would clean the battery terminals good and the cable terminals and then charge the battery for a couple of hours and see what happens....
