Thanks everyone. Update: the radiator fan does come on when the a/c is turned on(though there is no blower). The a/c light does come on, as does the recirculate light. I don't hear the compressor at all. It seems the concensus is I should find a MB a/c shop..and fast. It's 98 in NYC today!
