Too much trigger finger and anticipating the recoil is putting your shots low and left. It is very common. Everyone has a sweet spot on their trigger finger. You have to find your own. Otherwise, still good enough to protect yourself (unless you cannot handle a serious adrnaline dump under severe stress).

One drill I used to put my students through was to have them run 25 yards to the target and back carrying a bag of bricks (about 50 lbs) as fast as they can, then unholster, load, and fire. Usually, most of them would be very "winded" and it would really shake up their stability and they could not even hit the paper. After time, they would learn to control themselves enough to make good shots. it's a good drill for an outdoor range. where allowed of course.
