Here is my conundrm. When I purchased my '06 roadster last fall the dealer boasted that the car had never been driven in the rain. Although the car seemed to be all the dealer had described I brought her to my indie German mechanic. He was very re-assuring of the condition of the car. Said I should have many happy years and miles ahead and as I was driving off he said that it appears that it has never been driven in the rain. I hadn't mentioned the dealers comment to him.
I've been accused more than once of being a little obsessive compulsive and have not driven the car in the rain and even avoided an area of town where street cleaning was going on and drove five miles an hour on the wet street and got off the street at the first corner I came to.
I find that not driving in the rain makes car-keeping so much easier. Just a little dust to contend with.
My wife on the other hand reminded me that she was a virgin when we married and neither she nor myself agonised over that. Told her I can't remember that far back to which she shot back, "Why don't you two just get it over with and go play in the puddles".
