i would have to go for the 6 speed manual in the US for that reason.
Here in the US the 2006 Corvette C6 (which went into production on 9/9/05) has a 6 speed automatic paddle shift trans. It's an option priced at $1250. The 4 speed automatic is no more. See my Gallery for a pic of the new Vette Steering wheel.
