I had this happen right after Dr. Glass installed a new windshield.... the trim pieces are one time use when you pull them out it breaks the tabs DR. Glass will reuse the pieces and save your insurance comapny the money for the new replacement.... They are responsible for the loss of this I had mine replaced free of charge!
The windshield was replaced two years prior. I have two extra clips if you need them.
