Default Re: Caliper paint?

Two years ago I painted my brake hardware with just regular $3 silver metallic. I also applied decals. All I did was spray brake clean on them, blew them dry with compressed air, then painted. Just last week, I took them apart for the first time to replace the brake pads and repaint yellow. The silver still looked good enough to leave alone if wanted. That paint made about 8 passes through the Dragon with no trouble.

This time I used high temp engine paint with high temp primer and high temp clear after I applied the decals. The paint can had "ceramic formula" on it and was good up to 500°. I suspect I will not have a problem with the paint. Most important part is the prep. From previous times, the high temp paint will adhere and cover much better using the proper primer.

Good luck. Remember that any color you choose can be changed very easily if you don't like.
