The SL is still large and in charge, and the "big boy toy" is the SLS. Is this a "tweener"?
And if so, is it really necessary? Are there really that many buyers in the MB target audience that wouldn't just get the SL?
Don't get me wrong, I love the design and it's gorgeous... but it's like Nissan building a sports car faster than the 370Z, but slower than the GT-R... the point is 
I totally agree with you. The line up will be SLK, SL, SLC, SLS? We all know the SLR was a bit of a flop too.
This is a very pretty car though.
