No that isn't a myth. It's a fact. Your tires won't last long though at high pressure because the middle of the tire will wear out real quick. Because only the middle will be in contact with the road. Not the way to go.
stick with the recommended pressures written on the door jam. Those are the pressures that I run off track. Vince
