From what I can make out the real problem is a plastic wheel or gear on the pin

Can we get another made out of metal instead of plastic /or get a new plastic part and replace the bad part? Maybe it is just very hard to get it out, I don't know. This should never be happening as the part is really not used or put into action that much that it should wear out. Any comments???
The parts which are removed are
metal. A spring and an odd shaped pin. I did the fix a couple months back, and have had no problems. I do have to be sure the key is rotated all the way to the left as that position in my car is not perfectly vertical but about 10 degrees beyond.
