Humidity (or the lack thereof) can play a big role in dust attraction. In drier climates you can develop a static charge just by wiping the wax off the car. Not terribly unlike rubbing a balloon on your hair and then sticking it to a wall. When it's really dry here in SoCal I can literally feel the charge as I wipe wax off the composite spoiler on my daily driver. That static charge in a dusty area can be a real pain. You might be able to knock it down a bit by using a quick detail spray on the car a few days in a row. You'll be wiping a wet product (the quick detailer) off the paint rather than a dry one (hazed wax).
