The material is not suede, it is alcantara, which is a synthetic version of suede, supposed to hold up better than the genuine article and much less expensive.

Worst case, wear them out and have a seat shop install some fresh alcantara inserts later down the road, it won't be too much, and if you are a modder, I have seen some pretty cool interior inserts and stitching used....
