Sorry to say it, but wet sanding several times before, spraying, and clearing is not the same thing, especially if you wet sand between coats.
I have done lots of these and if you show your car, the judges will pick up the nightshades and polish versus, IMO what is the 'correct' way to do it. Anyone who paints will tell you prep is EVERYTHING. I am not trying to knock what you are doing or say it looks bad, because I have not seen it in person, but do not tell someone painting and polishing is the same as the tedious process of wetsanding 6-8 times before spraying, wetsanding between coats, and and clearing. My tails are literally as smooth as glass and look like they came the factory, it took me several hours in a paint booth to achieve that finish (and flat black accent), and no nightshades, tinted high end clear coat used to smoke to my desired level (6 coats I believe)....
