Bob is right, driving is the key to letting it penetrate the plastic parts. You are supposed to let it sit with the engine idling so long then drive. I do not wipe off excess before I drive, but I do not apply very thick either. After the drive and it cools off, I will wipe the few spots that are left wet and it will look amazing.
