Default Re: Advice on buying used SRT-6

Talk to 5 different people and you will probably get 5 different opinions on when a car is adequately "broken in". The owners manual says to take it easy for the first 1000 miles. (The car you're looking at had only one owner for its first 2,500 miles, so it probably wasn't abused).

Personally, I'd be more concerned why the first owner only kept the car for 2,495 miles, and the second owner for less than 1,300 miles when they decided to get rid of it.

I spent nearly a year looking at Crossfires before I finally got mine. Several times, I almost talked myself out of buying one because there seemed to be so many extremely low mileage used ones out there. That I figured there must be something wrong with C-fires in general. I finally decided, how bad could it be, after all it's a Mercedes. Go back to the dealer and tell them that you want to take the car back out for a long test drive. Take it over lots of different kinds of roads just so, you are sure that its suspension isn't to stiff for you. (You're young so I'd be willing to bet you'll find it's just fine). Just make sure you "fit" in it. In other words, make sure you can find a comfortable position and not get sore after spending a couple of hours behind the wheel. It may sound like I'm telling you the obvious, but basically, I think that's the biggest reason so many people get rid of their XFs after such a short period of time. If you follow RESPDOC & AERO BLUEs advice too, you shouldn't go wrong. Good Luck!
