What I ended up doing was taking it to a friends house that has a bit more experience with wireing and he ended up splicing the co-axle cables and connecting them straight to the speaker wires.
I don't have the limited edition so I don't have the pre-installed amp.
Everything works like a charm though and sounds really great. If anyone else is interested in the Sony CDX-GT740UI cd player it works great in my crossfire roadster, just a little confusing when trying to tweek the sound to your likeing because there are a lot of options.
I have the CDX-GT540UI and I find that when tweaking the sound I just pick an option and go through all of the values. (i.e. Low - goes to -10 to +10, so i'll just turn the *** to -10 then back to +10 until I find which value sounds the best).
The 540 lets me adjust Low, Mid, High, and Sub by scrolling through the list. All of these are on a 20 point scale (-10 to +10).
I don't know how different the 740 model is, but if you have more specific questions feel free to PM me.
