Well, there's no replacement for displacement! But at the same time, I think with a 4.3 you'll end up wanting more. Except for the cost of the donor engine, the swap cost should be more or less equal between the options. For that reason you have to be brutally honest with yourself as to your final goal. Power? Image? Uniqueness? Chic cheap? If I was going to do a V8 swap I'd lean toward the baddest thing that would fit. I certainly won't judge no matter the final choice. Some of us older guys learned swap lessons the hard way. Just be sure of the final goal and if you don't have one don't do it. It's a huge job and it's the little details that will make or ruin the car for you. I'm actually loving what Chuck Norris is doing. A high boost turbo 4 banger. If your thinking engine swap, why not consider a ricer 4? (rice has no flavor, but it can be fast) I'm rambling but I hope it gets you thinking if your serious.
