Default Re: Surprisingly cheap V-8s... worth it?

I have to finish the two I have, but this winter, the search will be on for a roadster to convert. First the donor car, then save for the right engine/tranny. If, I take on this project, it will be a race car. It will be an all out go fast, bare bones toy. I love the two I have and wouldn't want to change anything on them, but, an all out project, kind of like JIM's, would be fun. Let's just hope my health and work keeps going like it is. That way I can justify it...I know Rudy is tired from the last one, but maybe we can entice him with the right engine/tranny combo. No, stick shifts, as I was a B&M auto front runner in 1973, and haven't looked back but a few times since, lol. But, the paddle shift, now, I have to have one of them. Rudy is aware of the engine I prefer/ tranny is optional..5 or 7...doesn't matter...it's just a dream right now, but, with a little luck...it can be done. I will have to lean on my old salvage yard friend, but I think Benny would get a kick out of what Rudy is building. Benny has been in the salvage business for many years and is into off-shore type boats. So big engines isn't new to him. And we are going big. 2012 project for sure. It even has the right numbers....lol
