Re: E85 on an 05 limited?
Why would anyone want to do this? I prefer my corn in my tortilla's. This past April we raced a 700hp Class 1 unlimited buggy in the alternative fuel class of the Mexican 1000. We converted what was basically a Nascar motor but with fuel injection to run on E85. Even though we had the overall lead with 100 miles to go, it was basically a disaster. Fuel milage was way down causing big fueling/pit stop challenges. With the A/F ratio correct the exhaust temp was much hotter than running on gas. We acutally burn the headers off the car. We had trouble with spark plug gaps closing. When we tore the brand new engine down after the race and found we had a bad piston wrist pin which was the cuase of a knocking noise in the engine. I would never have anything to do with E85 again.
