Well, I do know enough about cars to know that the battery is primarily used to start the car and then the alternator takes over once started. Now I was only a couple of miles from work, so I prayed all the way there and made it. After work, I went out to my car and checked the battery (sort of new-less than 2 years old). Everything looked clean and good. So I chanced it and started it-it starte right up and I began driving it home. The battery light came on about a mile later. I called my son and met up with him a few more miles up the road. He checked my battery and there was a charge of 12.53 with motor off and 12.1 with motor on. So that told my son, it was most likely my alternator. I was able to get my car home (more prayer) and now I have an alternator and serpentine belt I need to figure out how to put on tomorrow since I won't be able to drive the car again until it's replaced. So anyone have a good link for me to view of how to replace my alternator?
