I agree with rdotson in that, solving a parts issue such as exterior fogging of these plastic covers in factory production usually turns out better than field repairs. My old '89 944s2, like many Porsches and Audis of that era had factory-authorized dealer fixes for gasket leaks in tail light assemblies but few permanently fixed the problem in the field. Replacing the entire headlight assemblies is the logical solution for a new car warrantee repair but with the incidence of internal water issues. I'm more comfortable with an external fix.
