So a pressure test should detect an IC leak since there is nothing leaking to the ground.
PCM is looking for cold start (open loop) then closed loop, acceleration/ deceleration between different speeds, etc---every car program is a little different. 500 is a lot---did not get a good mix is my guess. When I had my repair shoppes, 30 to 70 of city and hwy---more city, cleared everything. If the coolant bottle is full, you do not have a leak: can't---coolant is full---You are correct---shared pressurized system for both. To check: Fill the bottle if low---pressurize, but be careful here, do not over max pressure or you can MAKE a leak: go just BELOW max pressure---let stand---if the pressure does not drop and coolant level stays the same, no leak---However, an IC leak would not explain why the fan did not come on. An IC leak would make the fan run LONGER than normal due to low coolant---the fan would try to compensate for the increase temp reading by running longer trying to bring the temp down---not the opposite by cutting off. Good luck. Jimmy
