Remove the door sill and the trim up the rear side of the door, pull back the carpet, take the foam plug out of the hole and you will see access holes to the trunk. Other wires are going through here so its easy to spot.
Remove the cover over the wheel arch in the trunk and you can pull a wire through, this works both sides of the car I believe, although I have only done it on the passenger side - LHD.
