if you take the oem plug apart to reuse you will find a small resistor in place. i was told by the electronics shop that its used to absorb any voltage spike from the pump kicking on. mine was maybe 1$? i wanted to make the cm30 i was using to be close to stock as possible so i replaced it . you could prolly get away by not using a resistor
