JHM2K is correct once more, the boot around the wires and pneumatic hose can leak. The leak can occur around the hole and also the boot itself can get torn or break.
At the very least take the trunk mat out and check for water around the Styrofoam covers that the mat sits on, any water could be seen in the gap between it and the trunk pan. Any water will destroy the pneumatic pump and you will have an expensive part to replace.
