Default Re: 5th Annual Fall 2011 - Tail of the Dragon GTG - Sept. 30, Oct 1 & 2

I made it home last night but not completely without a problem. I have always thought I had one of the most reliable Crossfires on the road. with all the common known issues, the only thing I ever had to fix was the crank position sensor and that was at 87,000 miles and I now have over 90,000 miles on the car. Well yesterday we were about 33 miles from home going through a small town when my car would not shift out of first, the speedo didn't work and the BAS/ESP lights were lit along with a CEL. I had my hand held scanner with me and it turned out to be the speed sensor in the trans. I could not clear this with my cheap scanner so I disconected the battery as a last resort and was able to drive home without any trouble. I ordered new parts today and since the pan has to come off, I will do a full service and install blue top shift solonoids while I am in there. BTW, the sensor is part of the electronic conductor plate in the trans and you have to buy the whole plate. Chrysler sells this for $398, MB dealer about $100 less and OE Discount Parts sells it for $186.

I am already looking forward to the next Dragon! What fun!!!! I hope in the future we can have more of a formal planned mixer. There were so many people I didn't get to meet.
