Tools : E8 Torx socket ( or in a pinch, 6mm / 5/16 socket )
Symptoms : sucker won't start, or if already running - it dies suddenly.
Warranty most likely won't cover unless the sensor has already gone bad.
( or you are buddies with the service tech )
This sensor is a 'Hall Effect' transistor that is triggered by a magnet in the end of the camshaft.
As such, they usually just quit suddenly, no sputtering etc .
On the other hand, the Crankshaft Position Sensor is an 'inductive' sensor, sputtering, failure to start at times can occur from this one.
They should be treated as a set, when you replace one, replace the other one too, and keeps spares in your travel kit along with enough tools to replace them yourself if you are in the middle of the boonies ( and don't have AAA )
