Hi all! I ran into some trouble this morning with my 2004 automatic. I came outside, got in the car, started it as usually, cranked up my music like I always do before trying to put it in gear. I pushed the brake to the floor like I always do, and lo and behold, it would't leave park. I tried turning the car off 3 times, removing the key each time, but nothing worked. After the 3rd time, the key was stuck in the ignition, but the car would still start. I've read that stuck keys are quite common with these cars, but I've never read on these boards that the car would start while the key was stuck. I'm really concerned, mostly because this is my main car (I'm in high school). Is there any way to fix this without a trip to the stealership? And if not, would it be cheaper to take it to the Mercedes-Benz dealership? I've heard that for some things the MB shop may be more cost effective. Thanks in advance!
