No wear or tear issues. The only moving part is the MB paddles. There is no need to do anything to the TCU. This kit does not alter the shift quality. It only moves the shifting from the stick to the steering wheel. The stick still works normally. Now if you want to modify the TCU or trans that is up to you but has nothing really to do with this great kit.
