Thanks, 180. Maybe that has something to do with it. When you take it out, the "spike" fits in one opening, but there is another opening right next to it. I guess there's one path for incoming oil and another for filtered oil to go to the engine. It's just so much different than the spin-on type. That's one long "spike."
